VAT: A precise mechanism to identify drug food companies in the Journal of Public Health

We’re pleased that our article VAT: A precise mechanism to identify drug food companies appears in the March 2022 issue of the Journal of Public Health.

It begins with this important statement:

  • It’s time to curb the activities of drug-food companies wreaking damage on human and planetary health.”

Then we carefully and systematically delineate the damage that they do.

Who are ‘we’? The co-authors are myself (Kate Cooper) who had the original idea and worked on this article in collaboration with her two co- authors Professor James Parle who added a clinical perspective and worked with me in developing the ideas for the paper, and the former Sandwell DPH and President of the Faculty of Public Health, Professor John Middleton who added a public health perspective.

note: Both Professors are former Directors of the Birmingham Food Council.
