Are there any plans about further food shortages and scarcities in the UK? Nope . . .

No-one appears to be working on possible responses to further food shortages and scarcities.

Ad hoc, underfunded third sector and community efforts seek to meet current challenges, but inevitably are failing. Millions of people already do not have enough safe, nutritious food to eat, and the Food Foundation’s Food Insecurity Tracking indicates the situation is getting worse.

There are no plans about what to do, nor any prospect of them in the short-term, despite the huge and growing threats on the supply system, including the catalogue of problems created by this Brexit.

In summary, the UK was unprepared for the challenges we have now, let alone those we’ll be facing in all too soon.

In the next blogpost, we outline what needs to be put in place asap.
