Caroline Hutton has been running Martineau Gardens for 15 years. In this therapeutic community garden, volunteers with mental health issues and learning disabilities grow fruit and vegetables for school children and visitors to see, taste and buy.
She helped set up ‘Growing Birmingham’, a network of organisations active in community food growing, and is now one of its collaborators making it thrive.
In her spare time, she cultivates an allotment and makes jam from the fruit she grows there. She loves growing, cooking and eating her own food.
